We had to place balloons, banners and flyers around the place. When people started to turn up I had to register and sign them in, give them a stamp on their hand and a shirt to wear during the bootcamp. Entertainment Work - Placement: Transport

ACP Main Office is in Sydney's CBD, located 54-58 Park Street. The closest station to this street is St James station and then a small walk. St. James is two trains from strathfield station, which is where I live. In the matter where I running late I can catch a train to town hall station and then walk to Park Street which will take me approximately 5 minutes. Below is a image of the approximate times I am aiming to reach St. James Station, ready for a 9am start at ACP.

SOCS - Work Placement at State Sports Centre

On the 18th of April, 15 of the entertainment girls, including my self from my year 12 class completed 7 hours of work at the Sydney Olympic State sports centre which held the "Sex and Relationships talk". Many schools from over NSW attended this event, such as Southern Cross Burwood, Marist Sisters College, Woolwich and Marist Brothers Eastwood. My job was to usher the teachers and school students into their seats in an orderly and safe manner. When it came to recess and lunch time it was also the entertainment crews duty to do the same and once the talk had commenced. We all had to wear fluro orange vests for safety reasons and so we were easy to spot out of the crow of hundreds of people.

I learnt that it is very hard to organise large events and that the team has to work together in order for the day to run smoothly. There has to be good communication in the workplace so this can happen.

As an employee I think I was very reliable and efficient. Whenever we were asked to do something someone would always attend to this appropriately. Crowd control is not an easy job and I believe as a team we worked collaboratively. We were all responsible during the day and it was an overall success.

The actual seminar was very interesting and I never got bored throughout the day. I had a great day!

Workplacement

Next term I will be undertaking work experience to complete my 35hours at a designated entertainment sector that has not yet been specified yet.

What I expect;
I expect to enhance my entertainment skills throughout the week of work placement by learning things and performing various tasks with the help of experienced employees at the work place. I expect it to be challenging and a hard task to undertake. I also want to learn to do activities that I can use later on whether it be in the entertainment industry or in my life to further benefit me.

What I want to experience;
I would like to experience how to use an audio mixing console I have never really had the opportunity to be able to work and monitor one of these machines before and I find it interesting. This really does depend on the type of industry I am designated to do my work placement at though.
I would also like to experience working towards a production or working on the day/night of a production to grasp a further idea of what it will be like working on the entertainment set and performing the various tasks it entails to make a performance run smoothly.
